High-Voltage Insulator Cleaning


Ginger Aviation specializes in cleaning high-voltage power tower live-wire insulators, a critical component that supports and insulates power lines. When insulators accumulate pollutants such as salt or dust, their insulating properties can be compromised. This may lead to small sparks or localized arc discharges and, in severe cases, to flashovers, grounding short circuits, and even power outages, posing significant risks to grid safety.
From October to March, the northeast monsoon brings salty water vapor and dust, which accumulate on high-voltage power tower components. Combined with atmospheric pollutants, this buildup can easily lead to current leakage. To address this, Taipower supplements regular maintenance by employing helicopters for barrier cleaning during the salt spray season, ensuring safe and efficient power transmission.
